The sculpture was first made of clay.
The sculpture was cut into three separate parts.
The pieces were prepared to create a mold.
Coats of silicone rubber covered the sculpture in layers.
Each silicone mold was covered in a plaster mother mold.
The molds were split apart and the clay was cleaned out from the rubber.
The molds were filled with wax.
The wax model was cast from the molds and reassembled.
The wax cast was prepared for the ceramic shell.
The wax assembly was dipped in slurry and ceramic in layers until a thick shell was made. The wax was then boiled out until the shell was empty.
Molten aluminum filled the ceramic mold.
Finished ceramic model before the gates and vents are removed.
